How to Care for Your Extensions

The first image shows a stylist applying tape-in extensions to blonde hair, the second image shows the finished result with long, voluminous waves, and the third image shows a stylist installing sew-in extensions using clips and thread.

At Jayden Presleigh, we believe extensions should feel as seamless and natural as your own hair, soft to the touch, beautifully blended, and effortless to maintain. Whether you wear tape ins for subtle volume or hand tied wefts for transformative length, proper care is what keeps your investment looking and feeling luxurious.

Below, our designers share how to keep both methods healthy, hydrated, and stunning between appointments.

Tape In Extensions

Tape ins are known for their lightweight feel and quick application, making them a beautiful option for adding fullness or soft length with minimal maintenance.

Daily Care

  • Brush gently from ends to roots using an extension safe brush to prevent tangling.
  • Keep roots dry at the adhesive area, avoid applying oils or conditioners near the tapes.
  • Use silk pillowcases to reduce friction and extend wear.

Washing & Styling

  •  Wash your hair 2–3 times a week using sulfate free, extension safe shampoo and conditioner. We love Oribe Gold Lust Repair & Restore Shampoo and Gold Lust Conditioner. These formulas strengthen without weighing down the bonds.
  • Always rinse using a filtered shower head. The Jolie Showerhead removes harsh minerals and chlorine that can dull your color and dry your extensions.
  • Apply conditioner from mid length to ends only.
  • Before heat styling, always mist with a thermal protectant (our designers love Oribe Royal Blowout for smooth, glossy protection).

Hand-Tied Extensions

Hand tied wefts deliver that signature lived in length and volume lightweight, seamless, and endlessly versatile. With proper care, your wefts will stay soft, shiny, and healthy through every season.

Daily Care

  • Brush 2–3 times daily with a loop or boar bristle brush, starting from the ends.
  • Secure hair in a loose braid or low ponytail before sleeping or exercising.
  • Avoid wetting your wefts too often, dry shampoo is your best friend between washes.
